A new study shows that the last 10 quarters saw a 350% increase in Netflix users streaming video, the Boston Herald reported.
It also shows that the now-average time of usage per subscriber is 93.2 minutes per day.
According to research from The Diffusion Group, Netflix streamed an estimated 7 billion hours of video in the second quarter of 2014, up from about 2 billion hours in Q4 of 2011.
The study was based on about 2,000 adult broadband users.
The Diffusion Group’s research estimated that the amount of video streamed by U.S Netflix subscribers jumped from 1.8 billion hours in Q4 2011 to 5.1 billion hours in Q2 2014, the Herald reported. International figures grew nearly tenfold during that same period, climbing from 200,000 to 1.9 million hours of video streamed.
