Redbox’s streaming video service, “Redbox Instant by Verizon,” has shut down.
Offering a free one-month trial and an $8-per-month streaming video service, “Redbox Instant” launched in March 2014. But the company said the new service wasn’t as successful as they hoped it would be, Forbes reported.

Redbox Instant, which officially stopped service October 7, was one of several streaming services that couldn’t hack it against giant competitors Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant Video.
When launched, Redbox Instant had over 4,500 videos in its arsenal.
